The UC Irvine Police Department provides the best possible service to the community with innovative and comprehensive programs that include: a diverse, well trained and educated staff with a variety of professional and life experiences; a sensitive staff that respects human dignity and the rights of individuals; full access to law enforcement resources; utilization of the latest law enforcement technology and equipment; a Community Oriented Policing philosophy and enhanced Community Based Problem-Solving programs; Crime Prevention Education and Awareness programs; use of the latest crime prevention equipment to protect, assist, and support the community in public safety and disaster preparedness; a mobile command post and access to the campus Emergency Operations Center; an advanced radio/communications system and network for continuous operational readiness; participation in all aspects of community safety; commitment to hiring personnel who are exceptionally efficient and effective in providing quality law enforcement services to the campus community; and ensuring our staff receive realistic, ongoing, current and extensive training in the best practices in law enforcement.
