Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Are you open during the weekends?
Unfortunately, we are not open on the weekends. Our appointment hours are 9:00 a.m - 4:00 p.m, Monday through Friday.

  2. What forms of payment do you accept?
Services may be paid with debit, credit, check (made payable to 'UC Regents'), or by UCI departmental recharge. Cash is accepted, but we unfortunately do not carry change.

  3. Is complimentary parking available?
Yes, please park your vehicle in Lot 1C, located directly behind our police department. Parking stalls marked with 'Visitor' allow you to park free of charge for 20 minutes. If you anticipate exceeding 20 minutes, you may pay for a general parking pass at the self-service kiosk at a rate of $2.00 per hour and then park your vehicle in an unmarked stall.

  4. How long does a live scan or ink fingerprinting take?
An average appointment is completed in 15 minutes.

  5. Do you provide Live Scan Request Forms?
Unfortunately not. Because all Live Scan Request Forms are unique, we recommend requesting a form through your agency.

  6. Do you provide ink fingerprinting cards?
There are different versions of ink cards, so we highly recommended bringing an ink card that your agency has provided you. We carry card FD-258 and if it is accepted by your agency, we can provide it to you.

  7. My employer still hasn't received my results, can you check on the status of my fingerprints?
If you're not affiliated with UCI, please contact the Department of Justice fingerprint result status check at (916) 227-4557. You'll be asked to provide your ATI# which is located at the bottom of your completed live scan form.

  8. How long does it take to receive live scan results?
Though it's typically a 3-5 business day turnaround, some results can take longer due to the background history of individuals.
